On the road for 100 years

Proud anniversary: The Woehl freight forwarding company is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The long-established company from Wissembourg (Alsace) has been on the roads of Europe since 1925 – and has been our reliable partner for transport to and from France since 2015.
Woehl’s history is characterised by perseverance, adaptability and vision. The company survived the global economic crisis of 1929 and the turmoil of the Second World War. It really took off in the 1970s with a new focus: Europe became the destination, cross-border transport the core competence.

First with Germany, then with Austria, the Eastern European countries, Benelux, Scandinavia, Great Britain, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Step by step, Woehl developed into a true European logistics service provider – thinking globally, anchored regionally.
From the 2000s onwards, digitalisation took centre stage: track & trace, customer portals and real-time transparency became part of the modern service promise.
In recent years, the company has become increasingly involved in corporate social responsibility, which represents an important step towards sustainable logistics.
Today, Woehl is one of the 100 largest freight forwarders in France (ranked 63rd according to L’Officiel des Transporteurs 2024). With 10 branches, an annual transport volume of 550,000 tonnes and a turnover of 117 million euros (2024 figures), Woehl is not only a major logistics partner in France, but also one with nationwide coverage.
