CTL Strategy Meeting 2022

With a successful two-day strategy meeting on 22 and 23 September, we conclude the CTL AG event series for 2022. We would like to sincerely thank the 80 participants from over 50 partner forwarders for a inspiring get-together and are pleased with the consistently positive feedback from the participants on the organisation and location. The CTL Strategy Meeting was held in the Marburg Congress Centre, which already convinced last year with its spacious premises and professional equipment.

The first day of the event was dedicated to our guiding principles for the coming months and years. The components stability, quality and functionality ran through all sub-areas, which the CTL management addressed in detail. Current and upcoming projects were presented and it was shown how these will contribute to being able to serve the aforementioned guiding principles and goals even better in the future. A complete coverage, robust and reliable operational processing at all CTL locations or the simplification and constant optimisation of existing processes are some of the key issues to be mentioned. The emphasised focus of our orientation remains the added value for the CTL network partners.

Networking was also a priority this year. We deliberately included a lot of space for personal discussions in our framework programme and are pleased that this was well received. We were able to take away numerous new impulses for us as a multifaceted cooperation.

A big highlight was the evening BBQ at the beautiful “Hofgut” in Dagobertshausen. There we were able to continue the valuable, lively exchange and enjoy a great live musical performance by the band WiMaMo (short for “We make moments”).

Top-class speakers completed the network meeting on the second day of the event with exciting expert presentations. After a short excursion into the future of CTL under the heading “From static transport service provider to dynamic service provider – what the future of CTL could look like”, presented by the CEO of CTL AG Francesco De Lauso, specialists from the industry spoke at our CTL Summit. All speakers are experts in their field and informed about the latest developments, trends and opportunities on the following topics:

Sascha Kaczmarek from MotionMiners GmbH spoke on “Process analysis of the future – with motion mining to data gold”. The intelligent technology from MotionMiners has already been used in the halls of the CTL headquarters in Homberg Efze and analysed potential savings and improvements in the operational processes.

Mr. Armin Neises from WAVES S.à r.l. addressed the topic of “Sustainability as an opportunity for logistics service providers”. He elaborated on the responsibility of companies providing logistics services in the fight against climate change and presented upcoming EU directives for the industry. Furthermore, he focused on pragmatic and concrete measures to reduce negative sustainability impacts and explicitly addressed the possibility of calculating CO² at the shipment level.

Furthermore, the market and price development of wood was presented in the expert speech “The Euro pallet is digital – reduce stocks and costs through high circulation speed in the logistics network” at our CTL Summit. Inter.PAL GmbH, a specialist in load carrier management, was represented and embodied by Mr Robert Oevermann.

Last but not least, Johannes Bockelmann of BNP Paribas Real Estate presented current trends and developments in logistics space.

As part of the partnership with CTL, all four guest speakers at the summit also addressed the special services and benefits for CTL network partners and were personally available to answer questions from the CTL Strategy Meeting participants. A big thanks is addessed to each speaker for the exciting, professional input.
