Milestone: CTL reaches 180 partners mark
Emons is represented by further four branches
For the first time in its history, Cargo Trans Logistik AG has more than 180 partners. Four Emons branches are new additions to the list. With more than 20 of its own general cargo locations, Emons operates a private German network and is strengthening this, among other things, through its cooperation with CTL. For its part CTL is creating an even more closely meshed network that, despite volatile consignment volumes, boasts high quality and stability. These volumes can now be processed much more efficiently, especially in regions with strong inbound flows. At transport logistic, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management, CTL board member Francesco De Lauso and Robert Fleischer, member of the management board of Emons, met to discuss the future challenges of the market.
Stability of the network is further increased
“In order to guarantee reliable and stable transit times even in periods of more volatile consignment volumes, we are always on search for new partners. Emons and we have found that we share a similar philosophy and can leverage many synergies together,” says CTL CEO Francesco De Lauso. The addition of the four Emons branches in Duisburg, Hallbergmoos, Bexbach and Himmelkron brings the number of CTL partners to 180.
Follow-up distance is less than 36 kilometres
The new locations contribute to the further consolidation of the CTL network. “The on-carriage distances are reduced once again to less than 36 kilometres. This ensures more reliable delivery and a high degree of flexibility,” says De Lauso. Especially in the Munich metropolitan region, but also in Duisburg as well as in Saarland, the general cargo cooperation creates double coverage for more efficient processing of peak consignments.
Long-term partnership as a goal
Robert Fleischer, member of Emons’ management board, says about the cooperation with CTL: “We are similarly positioned in terms of our minding and consignment structure, and need partners who operate on the market as general cargo experts just like we do. Since we work with our own branches within our network, we check exactly where we are subject to growth and have challenges with regard to the processing of consignments. As a medium-sized company our goal is clear: we want to develop together with CTL and enter into a long-term partnership.”
