30 years of CTL AG – General cargo cooperation celebrates anniversary
The year 2023 is a very special one for Cargo Trans Logistik (CTL) AG: the general cargo cooperation with its headquarter in Homberg (Efze) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Starting in 1993 with 14 forwarders, the network now has a unique hub structure with almost 200 employees who are responsible for around 180 system partners. CTL continues to focus clearly on creating added value services for the partner companies and on improving quality within the network. In order to achieve that a support programme was launched at the beginning of the year. As one of the special highlights for 2023, CTL will be represented for the first time as an exhibitor at the leading international logistics trade fair transport logistic from 9th to 12th May in Munich. Furthermore, an extensive hub festival with all partner companies is planned for August.
Handling of around 18,000 colli per night
“Our anniversary year is all about our three guiding principles: stability, quality, functionality. We are working in all areas of the company to further develop our network and make it more attractive for our system partners and their customers. We are proud to have earned a firm place in the general cargo world thanks to continuous improvement,” says CTL CEO Francesco De Lauso. In the meantime, more than 18,000 colli are handled at the six hubs (Aurach, Düsseldorf, Grolsheim, Homberg, Lauenau, Leipzig), which are operated by the company itself, with the exception of Leipzig.
Aiming for further development into a service provider
In order to continue to guarantee the quality of the network and to make it even better in the future, CTL has taken various measures. For example, the general cargo cooperation developed a support programme for partner companies to identify and implement potential for improvement. In addition, three working clusters were recently formed on the topics of “Products”, “Communication” and “Operations”, which can contribute impulses and ideas from among the CTL members to the cooperation. “Constructive exchange with our system partners is enormously important to us so that we can continuously improve. We are consistently developing our business model from our core competence ‘network’ into a service provider in order to be not only a service provider, but also a multiplier and enabler for the CTL partners,” says De Lauso.
Trade fair presence at transport logistic for the first time
In keeping with its 30th anniversary, CTL AG is represented for the first time at the leading international logistics trade fair transport logistic with its own stand. In Hall A5, Stand 315, the general cargo cooperation will be presenting its services. There will be a separate area within the trade fair presentation for the system partners, who can meet their customers and partners at the CTL stand. “In addition to transport logistic, our Hub Festival at our headquarters in Homberg is a highlight that we are very much looking forward to. We want to celebrate with those who make up CTL: our partners,” says De Lauso.
